Architectural Design II
Project I
Diagramming Architectural Principles
Requiring us to analyse a chosen building and represent its architectural principles via diagrams and models, our group of five members were assigned to Kiyoaki Takeda's House with 5 Retaining Walls and, in total, produced five sets of models and drawings in an effort to capture the essence of the Japanese suburban residential project.
Project II
Designing with Architectural Principles and Materiality
A continuation of Project I, this project required us to design an architectural folly using the principles analysed from the first project. Thus, our final outcome for Project II, titled Breathe, is a folly that represented the beauty of breathing through the journey of inhalation to exhalation.
Project III
Designing with Architectural Principles + Materiality + Context + User
As an individual assignment, this project required us to understand site context and our selected user and apply these factors into moulding our designs. Called a Tropical Solitary Haven, this structure was to be set in Taman Wawasan in Puchong, an escape from the urban lifestyle into nature. Thus, my final outcome was titled Beneath the Canopy, a retreat set beneath the multitude of trees for my father and I to revive a familial relationship that had, overtime, become detached.
